Ranking Need For Speed games based on my likings
Over the past years, I have been playing Need For Speed. It is one of my favorite game when it comes to racing genre. Although I havent played the recent one like Need For Speed Payback and Need For Speed Heat, I can still enjoy watching the gameplay. Even though I like all of the NFS games that EA Studio made, some of them are just kind of boring. So, I'm gonna list some of the NFS games from The Best to The Worst.
When we're talking about NFS:MW, I find it one of the best NFS game ever made. From the cutscenes, characters even the memorable cars such as the BMW M3 GTR and Cross's police Corvette C6R which is shown on the picture above. Also, the intense pursuits, and the progression from the slowest cars to the fastest one as the game gets even more tense near endgame. Handlings are the best back then because it's easy to avoid cop chases and doing races. Even though the game is old, I find it's graphic still georgous for a 2005 game. The vibe it gives me is totally different from today NFS games.
Unlike NFS:MW, this game is also a good game that I had fun playing with. But, there are some that I don't like with it. We'll start off with what this game is all about then from what is good about it to what is bad about it. NFS:ProStreet is a game where you become Ryan Cooper, who joined a legal street racing career wants to become a well known street racer in the world. But, before he can become one, he has to fight his way up by competing with other racers and not only, the King of ProStreet himself, Ryo Watanabe, who then later insults Ryan by their driving abilities whilst on stage during the D-Day event or known as the legal street racing event. Now that we have finished with the backstory, I'm going to give my short points from the good thing about NFS:ProStreet. The good thing about this is the car will instantly gets totaled if your car flew in the air and landed upside down. The realisticness of it is very good, not to mention that the car damage also looks real. Now, the bad thing, races pretty much feels the same once you played for a while. Doing the same kind of races everyday doesn't sound fun at all. And lastly, this game is probably by far had the most advertising due to heavy sponsorship from lots of company. The game looks like it wants you to focus on the advertisement everytime you pass through one while in racing progress. Overall, I still enjoy it due to different categories of each races from Drag, Time Attack, Race and Drift.
NFS: Payback is a game where you, as main character Tyler Morgan and his crew, Jessica and Mac wants to become the best crew team. In this game, you will be automatically switched to different driver to race in various streer leagues throughout the city and beat bosses. It is decent, but everything is frenetic, fast and exciting to look at, but in the end result isn't very intriguing. Like escaping the police is no longer the challenging and the story failed to make me feel thrilled. If you have a younger siblings or anyone that is casual or inexperienced at racing game, then this game is for them.
